A to the Men
Empty My Hands
Sometimes, we just need to let go. Let go of everything. Let go of our pride, our pain, our suffering, our dreams, our successes, our failures. Why? We don’t need these things in our life. They don’t lift us up. They only tear us apart and bring us further from our Father. It’s weird. Why do we hold on to all these worldly desires when they’re so hard to hold onto in the first place. How do we let go of them?
For me, I struggle with letting go of my reputation and pride. I built up so much of myself so that people can see me as such a happy person who can do this and that and loves this and that. But, that’s not really who I am. I make mistakes when others don’t see me. I cry. I fail. I hurt. I don’t know how to be me. I mean how can I even do that when I don’t know who “me” is? You know.. it took me so long but I realized all I have to do it let go. Let go and trust God. Not only trust God, but WANT Him. I need to hunger and thirst for Him. Matthew 5:6 says: Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
Lord, empty my hands, fill up my heart, capture my mind with you. I want to want you. Help me let go of my pride and my pain so that I can focus on you and what you’ve done for me. Rid me of all these barriers.
I could easily go off on many tangents on this topic but I’ll save that for later heeh :) Remember our God is awesome. He will be there to catch you when you fall. He is the only one who can completely complete us.
“Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you.” - Psalm 9:10

The Light Meets the Dark.
Darkness is the lack of light. Sin is the lack of God. God is light. We are darkness. We sin. But wait this doesn’t make sense. How can the light meet darkness if they’re opposites? they can’t. That’s the beauty of salvation. God can’t be in a place where sin is. Thats why He sent his son to die for us. He wanted to be with us. God sent his son to save the world through him (john 3:17) not to condemn the world. You see God’s love is light. It’s a light that shines through our dark darkhearts that are full of sin and hatred. When we believe in Him though we don’t have to be dark we can be light with Him. Light and Salt to the Earth. And that my friends. is how the Light meets the dark. cool huh?

You are more than the choices that you’ve made,
You are more than the sum of your past mistakes,
You are more than the problems you create,
You’ve been remade.

‘Cause this is not about what you’ve done,
But what’s been done for you.
This is not about where you’ve been,
But where your brokenness brings you to

This is not about what you feel,
But what He felt to forgive you,
And what He felt to make you loved.

We all have our own stories of turmoil and distress where we’ve failed and failed over and over again. I’ve been through it too. It’s so difficult even with God. But all I know is it was way easier with Him there than without. This song. This song is truth. Mike Donehey, the lead singer of this band, said in a video. If we’re good we’re more than our successes and if we’re bad we’re more than our failures. You know why? This is why. We are the sum of God’s love for us. Everything else that we’ve done doesnt matter. It’s what Christ did for us that makes us who we are. We aren’t sinners that are saved. We are Saints that sin. We aren’t struggling to be free. We are free to struggle. Thank you God. For loving us. Despite all the pain we caused you.

1 John 4:10-

This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

You my friend are loved. Dont ever forget that.
